More Food Fun

Last week I was cleaning out my kitchen cabinets in anticipation of the Annual Bennett Yard Sale. In the process I came across two plastic ice cube trays that were tucked way back in one cabinet. I couldn’t recall the last time I’d actually used those trays for ice since we’ve had an automatic ice maker for years. Before tossing the ice cube trays in the yard sale box though I wondered if there was something I could use them for. Then it hit me – food fun for my cat.
I placed the plastic trays down on the floor and put a few pieces of dry food in each little compartment. Pearl, my ever curious kitty, was in the kitchen in seconds to check out her latest food puzzle toy.
Later that day I spooned a tiny bit of wet food into each other compartments to see how Pearl would do. She loved that as well.
So if you happen to have an old ice cube tray hanging around the house unused, you might found out that you have a ready-made puzzle feeder to increase the fun factor when it comes to kitty’s mealtime!
What ideas have you come up with when it comes to adding more fun to mealtime?
