Super Social Kitty

Wellington is a very outgoing kitty. He’s very social and loves being around people. In fact, when we have people over, Wellington is usually the first to greet them at the door – walking around their feet and begging for chin scratches and belly rubs. He’s never one to hide, and I like that about him.
Come to think of it, I bet it’s incredibly exciting for him to meet someone new. The different sounds and smells probably send his senses into overdrive, and he always makes it his mission to learn more about his new “discovery.” I don’t think he’s ever met a person he didn’t like, and he certainly has made a lot of friends over the years. I admire his sociability and his willingness to explore his surroundings – I wish I could always be that confident.
Speaking of confidence, here’s a meet and greet story that always makes me laugh. One night a year or so ago, I had a few of my coworkers over for dinner. During dessert, Wellington actually jumped into my friend Darin’s lap, gave him a kiss and then tried to steal a lick of his ice cream. Can you believe that? Talk about making the most of every moment! He definitely loves being the life of the party.
