Different Types of Eaters

When it comes to cats, there are two types of eaters – the grazer and the shoveler. The grazer will eat only a few bites at a time, saving some for later. The shoveler will quickly eat everything all at once, leaving nothing behind.
When it comes to my cat, he’s definitely a shoveler. Around dinnertime he’ll practically beg for his food, and when he gets it he’ll eat it all within minutes. He’s definitely a good eater, and once he hears that wet food can pop open he’ll start going absolutely crazy. It’s kind of cute to see him get so excited about it, but sometimes I wish he’d just slow down – especially since he’ll often beg for more within a few hours of eating. We wouldn’t have this problem if he saved some for later, but he hasn’t seemed to figure that out just yet.
How about you? Is your cat a grazer or a shoveler?
